The planning for this adventure and film started in 2010. The trip was undertaken during the spring and summer of 2011.  Now over three years in the marking the film is finally finished! Have you ever wondered what a feature film looks like on a timeline inside editing software? Check out River Dreams below. Those tiny slivers are thousands of cuts, edits and files that help make a film a pleasure to watch. We can’t wait to share it with you! - Hunter

6-27-11   The long paddle: Hunter Nichols comes down the Cahaba to the coast

During the trip I had two reporters from the Mobile Press-Register visit me while I was camped in the Delta. Ben Raines wrote a nice article found at the link above about my trip and the adventures we had together that day. The article made the front page of the Press-Register a few days later. After that I was recognized by shrimpers and boat captains along the Gulf Coast. “Ain’t you that guy paddling from Birmingham? Need a snack? Beer?  How are your chigger bites? Come party with us this weekend.”  I had to take a rain check and keep moving but the hospitality was heartwarming. - Hunter
